Justin Sun said on Tuesday on X that his lawyers had asked a California federal court to sanction World Liberty Financial over its delayed disclosure that its ownership chain gives it UAE citizenship. According to Sun, the company’s initial court filing listed only Florida before being amended to include 22 members and UAE ties, along with Florida, Delaware and Puerto Rico. Sun presents the late amendment as a tactic to move the case out of federal court after World Liberty argued that the court lacks jurisdiction. The Tron founder invested $45 million in WLFI tokens and accuses the company of misleading him when he bought them and then unlawfully freezing them. Once his sanctions motion is resolved, he plans to refile the lawsuit in California state court.
