Kraken and Crypto.com blocked or restricted accounts linked to a crypto theft estimated at more than $133 million. According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, an unidentified European entity reportedly lost more than $106 million after withdrawals from several centralized exchange accounts on November 1. The suspect converted stablecoins into ETH, then exchanged them for Monero and transferred them through cross-chain bridges. Tether froze some of the associated USDT, while Circle retained the ability to freeze a smaller portion of the remaining USDC. The victim and suspected attacker have not been identified, and Kraken denied any infrastructure breach or compromise of customer accounts.
