Mercado Bitcoin hack: Attacker still holds PEPE, AAVE, and PENDLE as millions remain exposed

Share

The Mercado Bitcoin exchange hack allowed attackers to steal approximately $46 million in cryptocurrency. The funds were tracked across 65 addresses, including an Ethereum account worth about $8.26 million and 106.068 BTC valued at roughly $8.1 million. More than $9 million in stolen assets have been frozen, but the attacker still holds $1.79 million worth of PEPE, $1.61 million worth of AAVE and $1.39 million worth of PENDLE. These positions, along with substantial balances of UNI and ONDO, remain exposed to transfers and selling that could intensify downward pressure. No large-scale deposit on an exchange has been confirmed, but a rapid liquidation remains possible and could increase volatility, particularly for PENDLE.
