Mercado Bitcoin temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals after detecting a security incident in one of its systems, the company announced Monday. The exchange said it quickly contained the issue and that no customer funds were lost and no data was breached. Its teams are investigating the incident, tracking the affected assets and working with the relevant authorities. Hypernative had previously flagged multi-chain outflows from wallets linked to the company. Founded in São Paulo in 2013, the platform has more than 4.8 million clients, while Tether invested $20 million in it in July to support the development of payment, lending, credit and international services.
