Talis Protocol, an NFT marketplace primarily built on the Injective blockchain, suspended new listings and auctions after its smart contracts were exploited. The attacker withdrew about 5,700 escrowed NFTs and sold most of them at fire-sale prices, generally around two cents each, mainly to bid bots. The attacker received roughly 445 INJ, worth about $3,100 at the time. Talis Protocol plans to return the stolen NFTs, restore more than 26,000 NFTs to their owners, and compensate bidders. A patched version of its contract is under pre-deployment review, while a full postmortem is expected.
