Aave reopens frozen markets but blocks new collateral loans

Share

On October 30, LlamaRisk restored borrowing caps and applied temporary interest-rate changes on Aave V3 and V4, preserving roughly 2% of capacity above borrowing levels recorded before the exploit. The Core and Prime GHO markets still face queued cap cuts that would reduce their combined capacity by 95 million GHO, while the emergency measures are estimated to remove roughly $3.8 billion of unused capacity. New supply and borrowing remain blocked in frozen reserves, although repayments, liquidations and some withdrawals are allowed subject to liquidity and account health. Reopening does not grant borrowing power for several collateral assets, including USDT, USDC, USDT0, POL, WAVAX, sAVAX, XAUt, PAXG and OP, and the rates actually deployed do not confirm a universal 10% ceiling across all reserves.
