MEXC is withdrawing from France, marking its fourth country-level retreat since September as new chief executive Vugar Usi seeks to transform the platform into a multi-asset trading business. The exchange will gradually close French customers’ open positions by January 22, 2027, and end withdrawals on March 5, 2027. The exit follows withdrawals from the Netherlands, Russia and Belarus amid tighter regulatory restrictions, including the Autorité des Marchés Financiers’ blacklisting of MEXC in June 2024. Alongside this retreat, MEXC is expanding into tokenized equities, commodities and prediction markets, leveraging a user base of 40 million, including more than 90% retail customers. In September, trading volume for tokenized US stocks rose 81% month over month, while volume for AI-related tokenized equities and ETFs increased by 88%.
