XRP Ledger developers propose four fixes to close restricted token loopholes

Share

XRP Ledger developers have bundled four code changes into a proposed amendment, fixCleanup3_5_0, designed to prevent restricted tokens from reaching accounts that have not been approved by their issuer. The fixes target trust-line management, automated market maker (AMM) pool behavior and the consistency of transaction checks across the network. Once activated, holders of unapproved restricted tokens would be able to do little more than return them to the issuer, although issuers would retain the ability to approve accounts retroactively. Activation requires more than 80% of trusted validators to support the amendment for two consecutive weeks, after the code has been incorporated into an official XRPL software release. No activation date has been set, and no user harm or external exploitation has been reported.
