Trezor warned its customers after a spy device was found hidden inside a Trezor Safe 5 wallet purchased from retailer CryptoBilis. The cellular module and antenna added to the device could read the recovery phrase displayed during setup and transmit it over the mobile network. Trezor asks affected buyers to create a new wallet with a new recovery phrase and transfer their cryptocurrencies to it, although no theft has yet been reported. The warning covers all models sold by CryptoBilis since March, while the manufacturer is offering a replacement or a gift card.
