Polymarket temporarily restricted trading after multiple users reported unauthorized activity and losses estimated at $2.6 million. The platform placed its international exchange in cancel-only mode, allowing existing orders to be removed but preventing new transactions, and suspended Relayer activity. The incident reportedly originated from a compromised external service rather than a flaw in Polymarket’s core infrastructure. According to blockchain data tracked by Arkham, a wallet potentially linked to the attacker held approximately $2.65 million worth of POL following several USDC.e-to-POL swaps through Relay. Polymarket said it had fixed the vulnerability, referred the matter to law enforcement and pledged to fully reimburse affected traders.
