HYPE Price Rises 15% Following NYSE Plan to Bring Hyperliquid Perps to the US

HYPE climbed more than 15% on Thursday after Intercontinental Exchange, the owner of the NYSE, reached an agreement with Trade[XYZ] to offer US customers perpetual futures based on Hyperliquid. According to CoinGecko, the token rose from about $79 early in the day to $93 by mid-afternoon, gaining more than 16% in 24 hours and trading roughly 5% below its $98 record. Trade[XYZ] will operate its markets through HIP-3, a Hyperliquid feature requiring deployers to stake 500,000 HYPE; the company’s markets have recorded more than $650 billion in volume in just over a year. ICE will be the exclusive operator of the regulated markets and plans to build a retail trading and clearing structure in the United States, subject to approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The planned contracts will cover equities, indices, commodities, currencies and crypto assets, while the retail business will remain separate from ICE’s institutional operations. The deal also gives ICE a minority stake in Trade[XYZ], which is not expected to materially affect ICE’s adjusted financial results in 2026, and brings investor Stan Druckenmiller on board.
