Coinbase denied any intrusion after a third-party analytics provider, Amplitude, exposed the contact details of a small subset of its customers. The company said it found no evidence of unauthorized access to its systems and that customer funds remained secure. Separately, Daishin Securities reported the exposure of data belonging to 38,490 customers, while Bithumb and Mirae Asset Global Investments also reported unauthorized access, prompting investigations by South Korean authorities. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao recommends using separate email addresses and phone numbers for exchanges, replacing SMS authentication with passkeys or hardware security keys, and regularly reviewing account sessions and API permissions.
