Ripple and BNY announced on October 27, 2026, that they are expanding their collaboration on BNY’s digital asset custody platform to include XRP and the RLUSD stablecoin. Clients of the bank will also be able to mint and redeem RLUSD directly, making it easier for institutional investors to move funds in and out of the stablecoin. Ripple and BNY also plan to explore blockchain-based use cases for tokenized trade finance built on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), which has processed more than 4.6 billion transactions with settlement times of 3 to 5 seconds. BNY has served as the primary custodian of RLUSD’s reserves since July 9, 2025, and the stablecoin’s market capitalization has grown to approximately $2.5 billion.
