On October 24, 2026, Tether announced that 15 mining operators, ASIC manufacturers and mining pools had committed to building and maintaining integrations with its Mining Development Kit, or MDK. The open-source framework aims to make mining infrastructure interoperable and support automation powered by artificial intelligence. The MDK bundles a JavaScript SDK, React interface components and a central orchestration kernel. Tether launched the project on April 27, 2026, and presented version 0.11 at the Plan B Forum in Lugano on October 23 and 24, targeting a stable 1.0 release by the end of the year. Tether’s QVAC mining agent already operates on the kit, while MiningOS, open-sourced in February 2026, provides the operating layer underpinning the MDK.
