Benjamin Netanyahu said on Channel 10 that he has requested a plan to use cryptocurrency and blockchain networks to circumvent possible banking sanctions. Anticipating the end of annual U.S. military aid worth $3.8 billion in September 2028, he wants to prepare an alternative economy and strengthen Israel’s independence in weapons production. The plan remains vague, as Netanyahu did not identify who would prepare it, which currency or network would be used, or when it would be ready. The strategy draws on Venezuela’s Petro and Russia’s A7A5 token, which moved about $102 billion in its first year before its daily volume fell 96 percent, but blockchains remain public and traceable, and some issuers can freeze funds.
