How Much of Your Wealth Should You Invest in Bitcoin?

Share

Major banks generally recommend allocating between 1% and 5% of a portfolio to Bitcoin, depending on risk tolerance: BlackRock suggests 1% to 2%, Bank of America 1% to 4%, Morgan Stanley 0% to 4% and Fidelity 2% to 5%, while BBVA recommends 3% to 7% in Spain and Itaú 1% to 3% in Brazil. This limit helps contain losses: on a EUR 500,000 portfolio, a 75% drop in Bitcoin costs EUR 7,500 with a 2% allocation but EUR 75,000 with a 20% allocation. Because most bank recommendations are fixed, Crypto Stratège proposes varying exposure across market cycles by reducing positions during euphoric phases and increasing them after corrections, followed by periodic rebalancing. For individuals, the appropriate allocation depends on emergency savings, investment horizon, loss tolerance, the asset base used for the calculation and other risk investments already held.
