Ethereum developers canceled the activation of Glamsterdam on the Hoodi test network, originally scheduled for October 26, without setting a new date. The delay is intended to assess how EIP-8037, which changes the pricing of state-creation gas, could affect contracts already deployed on the mainnet. ChainSecurity identified 13 contracts whose error handling could be manipulated, causing operations that could previously be retried to fail permanently. The increase in Hoodi’s gas limit to 200 million gas per block has also been suspended, while Glamsterdam remains in its final call phase until November 1.
