Kentucky Democrat Dembo’s campaign linked to $500K dark money controversy

Democratic candidate Zach Dembo, who is running in Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District, is at the center of a controversy involving $500,000 provided by Reid Hoffman through what the National Republican Congressional Committee describes as dark money channels. According to the NRCC, which made the information public on social media, the funds were allegedly routed through the super PAC Kentuckians Not Corruption, which supports Dembo. Dembo is leading his Republican opponent, Ralph Alvarado, in several polls, while prediction markets price a 53.5% chance of a Republican victory, down from 59% just 24 hours earlier. The source of the funds, additional polling and any changes in campaign strategy will be watched as the election approaches.
