Standard Chartered moves to bring crypto custody in-house as Wall Street’s digital asset infrastructure race accelerates

Share

Standard Chartered has agreed to acquire the entirety of Zodia Custody, although the transaction still requires regulatory approvals. Zodia’s regulated custody operations in Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Luxembourg will be integrated into the bank’s Securities Services division. The consolidation will provide institutional investors with a unified platform for custody, settlement and other digital asset services. Separately, Standard Chartered will spin off Zodia’s software and professional services into Zodia Solutions, an independent company serving financial institutions. Institutional investors will participate in the new venture, while Standard Chartered will remain a customer and retain exposure to digital asset trading and tokenization through Zodia Markets and Libeara.
