Bitcoin Core 32 can stall multisig signing on older nodes as fix slips to next patch

Share

Bitcoin Core 32.0’s graphical interface creates PSBT v2 files that earlier Core versions cannot import, potentially interrupting multisig co-signing. Maintainer fanquake moved the compatibility issue to the 32.1 release on October 21 because no fix was ready to backport. Pull request 36539, which proposes restoring PSBT v0 for files created through the graphical interface, remained open on October 22. Users combining different versions can avoid the problem by explicitly creating a PSBT v0 through the walletcreatefundedpsbt or createpsbt commands with the psbt_version=0 parameter.
