Bitcoin fell 2.9% on the day, touching $81,256 on Bitstamp, as comments from US President Donald Trump about possible military action against Iran weighed on equity markets. At the Wall Street open, the S&P 500 was down 1.3% and the Nasdaq Composite was down 2.3%, while the US 10-year Treasury yield approached 5%. According to Bitfinex Alpha, Bitcoin is expected to trade in a narrow range between $81,300 and $84,400 until the Federal Reserve meeting on October 28. Sustained ETF demand could support a move above $84,400, while a close below $81,300 would increase the risk of a decline toward $79,821. Prediction markets were also pricing only a 3% chance that Bitcoin would reach new all-time highs by mid-January 2027.
