Ethereum developers canceled the activation of Glamsterdam, scheduled for October 26, 2026, at 17:42:48 UTC on the Hoodi public testnet. Node operators must now use client software that does not include the fork, while the mainnet activation date remains undecided. Glamsterdam combines the Amsterdam execution-layer changes with the Gloas consensus-layer changes, notably including proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists and gas pricing adjustments. Hoodi’s block gas limit target was expected to rise from roughly 60 million to 200 million, but the cancellation delays the testing of conditions already observed on Sepolia, where the upgrade was activated on October 6, 2026. An early December mainnet deployment window is now less certain, and Hoodi operators will need to follow new client releases and the rescheduled activation date.
