Siemens and Nvidia have signed an agreement to jointly develop an industrial artificial intelligence operating system designed to embed AI across factories. Siemens contributes its industrial automation and digital twin technology, while Nvidia provides its AI infrastructure and computing tools. At its Erlangen site, where Siemens has invested $560 million, around 100 AI agents were already being used in production-related tasks by October 2026. The site reports an 85% reduction in engineering effort for virtual production ramp-ups, 20% cost savings, a 40% faster time to market for circuit boards and roughly 7% annual productivity gains. Unveiled at CES in Las Vegas on January 6, 2026, the partnership also targets AI-native electronic design and faster simulation tools.
