Three hooded men broke into the home of a couple in their sixties in Mont-de-Marsan at around 3 a.m. and demanded their cryptocurrency. The 63-year-old husband was allegedly struck on the head with a wrench, while the couple was tied up with adhesive tape and plastic zip ties. The attackers stole a laptop and a phone, which may contain cryptocurrency wallets or private keys, before fleeing. The couple freed themselves and alerted the police, then were taken to Mont-de-Marsan hospital for examinations. The investigation has been assigned to the Bayonne criminal investigation police, the three suspects remain at large, and the couple’s son, who works in cryptocurrency, has been placed under protection.
