STRK holders in Starknet’s community backed research into a transition toward an independent, quantum-resistant layer-1 blockchain with 93.52% support. The seven-day non-binding poll drew about 3,200 votes and recorded the highest participation in Starknet’s governance history. StarkWare and the Starknet Foundation have formed a working group to develop technical proposals, with a draft whitepaper planned for November. An actual transition would require a separate, binding governance vote, and Starknet will continue operating as an Ethereum layer-2 network for now.
