Developer t4t5 reproduced Satoshi Nakamoto’s January 2009 Bitcoin software exactly, byte for byte. Its SHA-256 hash matches that of the historical file, which weighs 6.44 MB. Through reverse engineering, the developer reconstructed a Windows XP compilation environment using GCC 3.4.5, wxWidgets 2.8.9, Berkeley DB 4.7.25 and OpenSSL 0.9.8h. The evidence indicates that the software was compiled on January 10, 2009, at around 23:16 UTC, then packaged in a WinRAR archive, without revealing Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity.
