The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has finalized the GENIUS Act rule, establishing a federal framework for payment stablecoins. The US Treasury announced that the regulation, effective in January 2027, will cover issuance, reserve backing and risk management. This regulatory clarity is expected to strengthen market confidence and cement the United States’ position in the digital asset sector. Current market data also suggests a modest increase in the likelihood of Bitcoin reaching $100,000 by the end of 2026. Market participants will monitor decisions by Congress and the Federal Reserve, as well as how issuers adapt to the new regulatory framework.
