Bitcoin : les 6 000 BTC « perdus » de Clifton Collins bougent encore

On October 20, a wallet attributed to Irish cannabis dealer Clifton Collins transferred 500 BTC ($41.5 million) to Coinbase Prime, marking the fifth wallet emptied since March 2024. In total, 2,500 BTC have left the twelve wallets seized by the Irish Criminal Assets Bureau in 2020 at a value of 53.6 million euros. The remaining 3,500 BTC across seven wallets are now worth nearly $290 million. The private keys, reportedly lost when a fishing rod case was destroyed in a landfill, have been cracking open at a steady pace of roughly one wallet every two months. At this rate, the final wallet should be emptied by late 2027, delivering an exceptional windfall to the Irish state on an asset acquired for the equivalent of just a few tens of thousands of dollars.
