Ether.fi, a liquid staking protocol, has made mump2p mandatory for all its 12 node operators. The networking tool built by startup Optimum delivers Ethereum blocks 2.5 to 3.5 times faster than the existing GossipSub protocol. The 16 operators now running mump2p in production collectively manage over 1.4 million staked ETH and approximately 22,000 validator keys. The software, which launched on mainnet on October 20, 2026, uses Random Linear Network Coding layered on libp2p and operates as a sidecar requiring no hardware changes or alterations to Ethereum’s consensus rules. Other early adopters include established infrastructure names such as Blockdaemon and Stakefish.
