Apple announced an investment of up to $100 million over three years with Perryman Company, based in Houston, Pennsylvania, for the production of titanium used in Apple products, including the $1,999 foldable Duo. The company also expanded its partnership with Delaware-based Qnity Electronics for the manufacturing of films used in the variable-aperture camera system of the iPhone 18 Pro. JPMorgan analysts estimate Apple will ship between 8 and 9 million Duo units this year, below earlier expectations of about 10 million, due to supply constraints. Delivery estimates reached approximately 14 weeks on the first day of preorders, the longest wait recorded for a new iPhone in a decade. Apple says nearly 100 components for the Duo and iPhone 18 Pro are currently produced by American companies across more than a dozen states.
