Germany’s Sparkassen launched crypto trading in their banking app on Monday, priced at €0.99 per order. The first five participating savings banks are Frankfurter Sparkasse, Taunus Sparkasse, Sparkasse Karlsruhe, Sparkasse Rottal-Inn and Niederrheinische Sparkasse RheinLippe. DekaBank, the securities house owned by the savings banks, runs the service under the name Krypto powered by Deka and lets customers trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana and Polygon without a securities account. The German Savings Banks Association (DSGV) aims to connect a large share of interested Sparkassen in the first half of 2027, with 30 to 40 additional banks expected to join each month. Each Sparkasse decides independently whether and when to join the program.
