Hex cryptocurrency founder Richard Heart was arrested last week in Istanbul during an operation coordinated by Turkish intelligence (MİT), Istanbul’s Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Financial Crimes Division, and Interpol. Authorities seized $7 million, six crypto wallets, 300 designer bags, 100 pieces of jewelry, four rifles, three pistols, and 1,400 rounds of ammunition during raids at 15 locations in Beşiktaş. An Interpol Red Notice was issued in December 2024 on behalf of Finland for alleged aggravated tax fraud involving hundreds of millions of euros in unpaid taxes. In 2023, the SEC accused him of selling over $1 billion in unregistered securities and misappropriating funds from his Hex, PulseChain, and PulseX projects, though the case was dropped in 2025.
