Cysic’s cross-chain bridge was suspended after an attacker created 10 million unauthorized CYS tokens on BNB Chain. On-chain analysis shows that 7.2 million CYS were sold for 306.6 ETH, worth approximately $727,000 at the time. The attacker exchanged the newly minted tokens through decentralized venues before routing the funds to Ethereum. The incident highlights a flaw in the bridge’s message-verification process. Cysic suspended the bridge and blocked an address, but a substantial portion of the unauthorized tokens had already been traded.
