According to an internal survey published on October 16, 2026 by Anthropic, 75 % of the company’s employees expect AI to handle 75 % of their work by 2030, compared to only 28 % of American workers surveyed. More than half of Anthropic employees anticipate the automation of at least 80 % of their tasks, and 91 % believe an AI-generated Nobel-level discovery will occur by that date. The company also forecasts that US unemployment will exceed 12 % by 2030, with GDP growth reaching 17.1 % that same year, projections notably more optimistic than those of the general American public. Within Anthropic itself, AI agents were already working six times the hours of human employees by August 2026, while the share of junior technical hires fell from 27 % to 9 %.
