Ledger confirmed a physical attack on signers sold through reseller CryptoBilis. An implant was found inside the devices, capable of reading recovery phrases during setup and transmitting them over a mobile network. Up to $93 million were drained from more than 300 wallets, with no software intervention required. The question is no longer what happened, but who the user can trust: the vendor, the reseller, the sealed box or themselves.
