Plasma partners with Stripe to build multi-currency stablecoin cards

Share

Plasma and Stripe announced on October 15, 2026 a partnership to develop multi-currency cards backed by stablecoins, making Plasma a design partner for Stripe’s stablecoin card infrastructure. The cards will support fiat currencies USD, EUR, GBP, BRL, MXN, and COP along with stablecoins USDC and OUSD, in more than 30 countries currently with the goal of reaching over 100 countries by 2027. Users will be able to make payments directly from their balances without prior conversion, with automatic currency selection planned for future versions. Stripe’s monthly stablecoin card spending reached approximately $1.2 billion in 2026, notably thanks to the acquisition of Bridge in 2024. Plasma, which operates its own Layer-1 blockchain and offers the Plasma One neobank launched in June 2026, provides Visa cards with yields up to 6% and cashback in native XPL token.
