Cboe Global Markets has secured approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission to become the first US securities exchange to offer binary options tied to the key performance indicators of publicly traded companies. Contracts will pay $1 if a metric meets or beats a preset strike, and $0 otherwise. Around 23 actively traded US companies, including Apple and Tesla, are expected to be part of the first batch. Robinhood will serve as the first retail distributor, with both firms planning to waive fees through December 31, 2026. Launch is scheduled for October 2026, contingent on further regulatory authorizations.
