Aptos rolls out Encrypted Mempool to curb frontrunning, sandwich attacks

Share

Aptos has launched its Encrypted Mempool feature on mainnet. This optional functionality conceals transaction details until they’re finalized, preventing bots from exploiting pending orders. Sandwich attacks cost Ethereum traders approximately 60 million dollars over the 12 months through October 2025, according to EigenPhi data. On Solana, these same attacks generated 29.7 million dollars for bots over an 11-month period analyzed by Bitquery. Aptos’ solution requires a minimum gas price that’s twice the base threshold and adds approximately 20 milliseconds per block of delay, but differs by not relying on a separate decryption committee.
