Thailand has finalized rules allowing domestic Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs to trade on its stock exchange from October 16. The regulatory framework, announced by the SEC on October 8, initially prohibits retail investors from accessing foreign crypto products, including depositary receipts, to support the development of the local ecosystem. Funds must passively track a single underlying asset, maintain average net exposure of at least 80% of net asset value, and brokers cannot provide margin loans for crypto ETF purchases. The U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF market has attracted approximately $70.37 billion in combined cumulative net inflows and holds around $121 billion in assets. No ETF has been approved yet nor has a trading date been announced.
