French firm Ledger said on Oct. 11 that the crypto thefts that occurred on Oct. 9 only affected devices bought from CryptoBilis, an authorized reseller for Southeast Asia. The firm confirmed finding an unauthorized hardware implant on one of the compromised devices without specifying the exact number of affected devices. Blockchain investigators estimate potential losses at over $86 million, a figure that has yet to be confirmed. Ledger emphasized that its own systems and direct sales were not affected by the incident.
