XRP Kuwait has denied accusations of losing independence following the deployment of a critical security patch, xrpld 3.4.1. The urgent update patched an integer overflow vulnerability in the payment engine that had existed in the code since 2015, which allowed unauthorized creation of XRP. A second patch also fixed a flaw in the Batch mechanism (XLS-56), preventing a potential blockchain split. No funds were lost and the fix was activated on Mainnet on October 9. XRP Kuwait acknowledged decentralization challenges while defending the compatibility between coordinated response and technological autonomy.
