Ledger confirmed that an unauthorized hardware implant was found on one affected user’s device during its investigation into crypto losses involving devices purchased from Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis. Losses are estimated to exceed $86 million across Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tron, according to investigator Specter. Ledger advises users who purchased a device from this reseller not to set it up and to consider moving their assets to a new Ledger signer.
