This decline reflects the fall in bitcoin’s price from its all-time high near $124,000 to approximately $82,000 to $83,000 in early October 2026. Washington is estimated to hold between 319,000 and 328,000 BTC at that time. White House crypto advisor David Sacks estimated that past government sales of seized bitcoin, which brought in approximately $366 million, would now be worth roughly $17 billion had they been retained.
