The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on October 6, 2026, via Press Release 2026-102, the addition of a dedicated crypto panel at its national compliance seminar scheduled for November 19, 2026. This session, labeled Panel VI, will run from 4:15 PM to 5:20 PM ET and will be moderated by Louis Gracia, with participation from Taylor Lindman, Chief Counsel of the SEC’s Crypto Task Force. The seminar, which is fully virtual and free, will be livestreamed on SEC.gov without advance registration. The announcement comes days after the SEC published on October 1, 2026, a proposal on custody frameworks for crypto assets, aiming to clarify responsibilities and extend permissible self-custody arrangements under certain conditions. The event primarily targets compliance officers at registered investment advisers and funds and could provide insights into the agency’s examination priorities for firms with crypto exposure.
