The European Parliament has adopted a resolution calling for the EU’s first comprehensive anti-corruption strategy. The resolution targets conflicts of interest, opaque political financing, misuse of crypto assets, and golden visa schemes. A European Parliament study estimates that stronger anti-corruption action could save up to 58.5 billion euros per year. The non-binding resolution also calls for better cooperation among national authorities and EU bodies such as Europol and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.
