Netflix released the trailer for The Altruists on October 8, an eight-episode drama about Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, ahead of its November 19 debut. The U.S. Department of Justice established that more than $8 billion was stolen from FTX customers, and Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison for fraud and conspiracy. Ellison pleaded guilty and testified against him. The production involves Higher Ground, the company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama. The case is currently before the Supreme Court, as Bankman-Fried filed for review following the Second Circuit’s confirmation of his sentence.
