Google Cloud launched Gemini Agent on Thursday, an AI that works autonomously for hours or days across Workspace apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Chat, Calendar) as well as Microsoft 365 and Slack. Managers can create customized virtual coworkers, each with its own Workspace email address, calendar, Drive storage and company directory listing, with complete action traceability. These agents connect to Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, Snowflake and BigQuery, and run on both Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude models. Each agent has a cryptographically attested identity and dedicated audit trail, operating in an isolated sandbox environment with Agent Gateway acting as a network firewall. Nearly 500 customers processed over one trillion tokens over the past year, but Google has announced neither pricing nor a general availability date.
