Samsung Electronics posted a record operating profit of 107.4 trillion won, approximately $80 billion, in Q3 2026, up 782.5% year-over-year, becoming the first South Korean company to surpass 100 trillion won in operating profit in a single quarter. The Device Solutions division, which encompasses semiconductors, generated nearly all the profit, with high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips for AI accelerators serving as the primary growth driver. Samsung’s HBM market share rose from 21% to 33% according to Counterpoint. Revenue reached 195 trillion won, a 126.6% year-over-year increase.
