On October 7, 2026, U.S. broker Robinhood announced it had purchased $25 million in Bitcoin for its corporate treasury, a first for the Nasdaq-listed company under ticker HOOD. The announcement was made at the Token2049 event in Singapore by Johann Kerbrat, senior VP and GM of crypto and international, marking a notable strategic shift from CEO Vlad Tenev’s statements in late 2024. This purchase of approximately 295 to 300 BTC would place Robinhood around 74th among Bitcoin Treasury Companies, far behind leader Strategy which holds 448,000 BTC ($71.2 billion). This transaction complements the nearly $25 billion in cryptocurrency assets the broker already holds on behalf of its clients, including over 185,000 BTC. Robinhood is also accelerating its crypto integration with the upcoming launch of perpetual contracts for eligible U.S. users and the development of its Robinhood Chain L2 blockchain, which has reached a TVL of $1.05 billion.
