Finland’s regulatory agency (LVV) has ordered Google to suspend work on two data centers planned for Muhos and Kajaani until environmental impact assessments are completed. The suspension order, effective no later than October 23, covers tree removal, excavation, and road construction. This decision comes a month after the tech giant committed to investing $15 billion in AI infrastructure in Finland. Finland, dubbed the “Texas of Europe,” has become a strategic location for AI data centers due to its available land and power capacity.
